Feb 01, · The Dry Valley Hydrographic Area is being considered as a potential source area for additional water supplies for the Reno-Sparks area, which is about 25 miles south of Dry Valley. Current estimates of annual ground-water recharge to Dry Valley have a considerable range. Consequently, in August they decided to form a partnership, but Moore kept his job with the Corps of Engineers LA District office, working on weekends and during the evenings, while Dames worked out of his home in Pasadena. When their book of business was sufficient to keep Moore busy full-time, he quit his job with the Corps.

DESCRIPTION OF THE STUDY AREA Dayton Valley is located in west central Nevada and lies wholly within the state (see Figure 1). Growth of the Reno/Sparks metropolitan area has resulted in development of rural and undeveloped land in the nearby Tracy Segment Hydrographic Area. Geological Survey Scientific Investigations Report81 p. Edited By: Hugh Hurlow. This report ( p. 4Pl.) presents hydrogeologic, groundwater-monitoring, and hydrochemical studies by the Utah Geological Survey (UGS) in Snake Valley, Tule Valley, and Fish Springs Flat in Millard and Juab Counties, west-central Utah.
Description of the hydrogeologic framework of Antelope Valley and Bedell Flat in west-central Nevada adds to the general knowledge of regional ground-water flow north of the Reno-Sparks metropolitan area.
The hydrogeologic framework is defined by the rocks and deposits that transmit ground water or impede its movement and by the combined thickness of Cenozoic deposits. The field mapping was confined to an area approximately feet east and west of the California/Nevada state line and about miles north and south of Dry Valley Creek.
No attempt was made to resolve discrepancies between the published maps in the area outside of. Of the 14 hydrographic regions and basins, only the Snake River Basin and the Colorado River Basin drain to the sea. BACK. Climate. Nevada is semi-arid to arid with precipitation and climate varying widely throughout the State.
Investigations ReportHydrology and Ground-Water Budgets of the Dayton Hydrographic Area, West-Central Nevada, in(Report 97).8 By utilizing refined estimates of the water budget components, the groundwater recharge and discharge estimates for the Dayton Valley Hydrographic Basin were revised to reflect a recharge value of 12, The test model used herein is a representation of Carson Valley, California and Nevada, The modeled region encompasses an area of km 2.
Part of this result is likely due to the hydrographic setting of this alluvial basin, in which regional groundwater flow occurs parallel to the flow of the river, rather than perpendicular to the Cited by: west-central Manitoba.
